SOUTH JORDAN, UT—Today, leaders of the Utah Medical Association (UMA) announced that the UMA has formally endorsed Senate candidate Tim Bridgewater. After meeting with both candidates, the UMA Board of Trustees unanimously voted to support Bridgewater.
“After carefully considering the similarities and and differences” of each candidate, said Dr. Glen Morrell and Dr James Fowler, “we collectively agreed that [Tim Bridgewater's] experience as a small business owner and strong support for significant tort reform were the main factors that helped us decide.”
“I am grateful for the endorsement of the Utah Medical Association,” said Bridgewater “and I look forward to working closely with the Association and it’s members as we progress towards achieving real healthcare reform in this nation. More federal government intrusions are making it harder and harder for doctors and other medical industry professionals to deliver high quality care, and we need to change course with more solutions at the state level.”
The Utah Medical Association represents nearly 80% of all doctors in the state of Utah and is considered a significant political force. They work to promote public policy decisions that are in the best interest of their members, their patients and the overall public good.
